Alta Independent partners with select, qualified private dance studios in order to issue dancers high school credit.
This high school credit then gets transferred directly to your school. Credits earned may be applied as core P.E., fine art, or elective credit.
Alta Independent will work with you and your school to apply and issue credit. Every 60 hours of verified program participation may
earn you (.5) credits equivalent to 1 semester long class. The amount of credit that can be earned per academic year depends on the program.

Alta Independent is a nationally accredited online high school that strives to find qualified organizations offering exceptional instruction to students and who are committed to providing as much value as possible for their students. Alta was established to provide an online alternative to traditional education. We provide an educational experience that allows students to advance at his or her own pace. We also partner with other specialized programs so students can earn credit outside of a normal school setting. This provides greater educational variety. Alta insures that each of their partners meet all of the required qualifications to be able to offer high school credit. Students only need to register, complete the required hours, write a short essay highlighting their experience, and pay their tuition. From there they can transfer their credit straight to their current high school! Specialized Programs Alta Independent partners only with qualified outside programs to provide high school credit for specialized training. We have the systems in place that allow students to earn credit for participation in approved private sector programs.
